Margate vs Eastry Sunday 28-04-2013

After electing to bat first, Margate struggled to impose themselves in a quiet first 10 overs. Gareth Friend and Roger Hill restricting the home side.  However a flurry of runs from Perez and Kirk upped the run rate and capitalised on some wayward Eastry bowling and fielding. Brooks and Dewell closed the innings strongly with some big hits towards the end. Smalley, Eastman and the returning Friend helped limit the damage. Margate posted 211-7.

Eastry started poorly in reply losing two quick wickets before Spong and Friend began the rebuild. Friend went on to increase the run rate to 8-an-over with some lusty blows. Smit proved the mainstay of the innings, building a patient top score of 66. He was joined by Kenton, and together put on a partnership of 70. Eastman then calmly finished the innings with 5 overs to spare.
