Groundwork – Saturday 9th April – 10.00-12.00
A reminder to you all about the groundwork tomorrow (Saturday) – we need as many of you as possible to come along please and help get the ground ready for the season. It’ll only take a couple of hours of your morning, starting at 10.00am.
See you there!
Updown goes down!
Now there’s more than just a few cracks on the wicket as overnight a large hole that can really be only described as a crater has devestated the ECC ground.
Coal mining shafts from the disused Bettshanger colliery run underground all around the area and it is believed that one of these shafts collapsed in the night.
Emergency services last night were also battling to stop Updown house from careening into the abyss as the collapse of the shaft was moving towards the house.
More news to follow soon.
